During 2019 and 2020 Atama Furniture was contracted to supply in-built and loose furniture to the seven storey 435 bed Together Co-Living facility located at 215 Bell Street, Preston, Melbourne. Areas included guestrooms, restaurant and bar areas, pool area, meeting rooms and common areas, and the loose furniture to the Novotel Hotel lobby/ground floor areas.
In addition, Atama supplied and fitted window treatments to all the guestrooms.
The contract included involvement value-engineering and practical adjustments to address the irregularities associated with refitting a 1950’s building , the manufacture of custom furniture, direct international manufacturer liaison (preparation of working and production drawings), complete interstate and international supply chain logistics, substantial head contractor liaison, large scale workforce management, custom carpentry / joinery solutions, and working within the constraints of COVID-19 lockdown issues and restricted workforce conditions.
The project was complex and involved many months of discussion and negotiation, the production of a large number of prototypes, and the preparation of hundreds of behind the scenes manufacturing drawings to address left and right and flip room configurations. The installation was carried out over a period of four months, and involved installing more than 25 x 40′ container loads of FF & E comprising more than 12,000 component and complete unit pieces.
In particular we acknowledge the dedication and professional approach by Neoscape to overall project harmony & success – with special acknowledgement to the senior project manager Mr Nick Panella.
